A walled village, Weston was founded 10 years ago by plucky settlers from the Kingdom of Lund, and is the only bastion of civilization on it’s side of the Gauntlet Mountains. As an unchartered settlement, Weston falls under the jurisdiction of King Godric of Lund, and is well guarded by soldiers of the Crown. As the wardens of Weston, the Royal soldiers keep the peace within it’s walls, and also patrol the road between the village and nearby Fort Vigil.
The villagers of Weston gather lumber from the nearby Fednar Forest, and stone from a small quarry just outside of town. Ore deposits are not uncommon in the surrounding mountains, but travelling too far from the village walls is a dangerous business. Fresh water is collected from a nearby brook. Essential supplies are infrequently delivered by military supply wagons, and rarely, a merchant caravan will make the journey to the frontier looking to purchase artifacts and other curiosities from the Westerlands.
